Oporto has a great selection of tapas at very reasonable prices, even when happy hour isn't in effect. And though the name implies Portugal, the menu reflects the spirit of Spain. Spanish and Portuguese wines pair nicely with a diverse list of meats and cheeses. The small plates here are well apportioned, and the sangria is always a solid choice. 'Salada do mar', an interesting twist on ceviche, is fresh and generous, and daily specials are usually fantastic if you get there before they're sold out. Flavorful pizzette and panini are filling and the perfect snack before heading to a movie at Edwards Cinema across the street. Although you won't find paella here most days — Sunday is paella night — you'll walk away happy nonetheless.

I can safely say I am a regular here. When I walk in, they immediately recognize me, not that I'm a big fish... its just such a little pond. This restaurant is very small and cozy and unpretentious. The use and quality of the ingredients are phenomenal. They have a m-f happy hour where most tapas are 3 dollars!!! and they have certain nights where you get 50% 0ff your wine and on Wednesdays (my favorite) you get a petit filet mignon with a glass of wine for $15!! Really awesome.

Well Oporto....such a great place. I've been going there quite often and there's yet to be a time where anything is subpar. The tapas are amazing! (Tapas: Popular throughout Spain in bars and restaurants, tapas are appetizers that usually accompany SHERRY or other APÉRITIFS or COCKTAILS) I usually get the panini...prosciuto? something like that lol its amazing...PLEASE get it. and the bacon salmon things too. I've had like 5 different drinks there and they've all been really good. Chances are the owner is going to be out on the floor waiting and serving you, it's great when people do that shows that they really care about their customers. Overall a great place to go have some drinks and munch on some great food.

This place is a hidden gem! They have great happy hour specials (Panini and Martini Monday is the best) and I have never been disappointed with the food. I have been going to this place for a few years and would definately recommend Oporto for happy hour or an after dinner drink!

Went for lunch and dinner this week. Lunch we watched world cup action and ate an awesome panini with bacon, brie, and avocado. creamy, salty, and toasty. At night we grazed over several tapas and cheese plates, as well as an awesome gazpacho soup... Highly recommended.

Wow!!! Let me tell you about Oporto. This is mine and my partners favorite place - PERIOD!!! Everytime I take someone there, they love it and keep going back. My three favorites things to eat there are (in my opinion): #3. Turkey & Goat Cheese Panini - You don't know until you put it in you MOUTH! #2. Goat Cheese - The nuts, the sauce, the cheese on garlic bread - "I'm in Heaven..." and the best kept secret in Houston is... #1 The Piquillo Pepper Relleno - No is not a Mexican dish, it is .... Just go and try it. Secret - MAKE RESERVATIONS !!!!

If you're looking for a swanky wine bar that'll impress a date, Oporto is your place. The tapas here aren't snacks; they're huge. There's nothing better to nibble on while quaffing a glass of wine than the 'Oportobello'. It's a marinated portobello mushroom topped with spinach and artichoke gratin and finished with white truffle oil. If you're still hungry after that Texas-size 'tapa', go for the 'Linguiça oporto com batatas', a Portuguese-style sausage sautéed with onion, roasted peppers, potatoes, garlic, port wine and piri-piri oil. Great wines and delicious tapas will surely impress your date... Saúde!

"This small plate of the prosciutto wrapped dates alone was certainly worth the price of admission.  I’m positive that Oporto offers more fantastic dishes like this, and I’m excited to try them next time. However, I know that this will be something that I order every time I go.  There are also many items on the menu other than tapas, and the menu covers many styles of cooking, too. Oporto is certainly a great place to go to share this fun eating style with a group of friends or your significant other."
