Oporto is the first concept of Owner-Chef Richard Di Virgilio. Richard (Rick) born in New York and of Portuguese-Italian descent, was trained as a chef here in Houston at The Art Institute. His passion for cooking and entertaining along with his time spent in his Mom's homeland of Madeira island, Portugal lead him to the concept of Oporto. It is now run by himself and his wife Shiva who is the Executive chef of The Queen Vic pub & kitchen.
Oporto food and wine bar is an intimate 'wine and
tapas bar' like that you may find in Europe. Serving delicious small plates "petiscos" or 'tapas', to go
along with its great wines and cocktails. Oporto's boutique bar setting is the perfect
place to relax with friends or have a romantic date night.
